Slightly Curmudgeonly Advice for Players
Show up on time, ready to play.
Engage in short social chit chat before play. You are people, treat each other that way.
Engage with what's going on. Do not look to one player to do all the thinking while you coast.
Take it seriously, but hold it lightly. It's important, what we're doing, but it's play.
Arrange a method of decision making with your fellow players. Players are going to disagree on the course of action sometimes. Figure out how you're going to resolve that before you get there.
Remember the movies. If you find yourself needing to do something and not knowing how to go about it, remember the hundreds of films and TV shows you've seen where similar situations happened. Adapt their solutions.
Don't be a diva. Don't try and elevate yourself above your fellow players and make the game about you. Everyone gets a turn to be the star and everyone eats shit.
Learn to love the suck. You can choose to get very upset when your PC dies or you can revel in their glorious death. That's a choice you make.
